The Rebel Alliance strikes again. The guild did an epic job on Tuesday night but tonight, we kicked ass in Antorus. We ran nine of eleven straight through with minor hiccups the first night. It was a little something of legends actually. After logging in and gathering provisions, I met up with another guild mate at the entrance of Antorus where we began summoning the rest of our crew. While we waited to pug in a few more to fill the ranks, we told jokes, talked about the holidays and sipped our ales. Then, it was time to get down to business. My guild mates and I blew through those nine bosses like there was no tomorrow. In fact, before I realized it, we were already at Aggramar.
Unfortunately, we were also nearing the end of raid time and a few people had to leave so we called the raid short by an hour and I logged off. I typically don't play much when I'm not raiding. I may log in to level a straggler or work the Auction house a bit but for the most part, I've been keeping off the game so I can fully enjoy it when I do get to play. Which brings me to tonight. Earlier in the day I logged in and parked my character near the summoning stone because I knew real life was going to make me run a few minutes late to raid. When I was able to settle in, I realized my entire guild was already waiting inside and inviting members to fill our damage spots. When I tell you we were pumped, we were pumped. As usual, no shortage of laughter or a good time and we were making progress. The fact that we completed raid tonight an hour and a half earlier than normal is pretty freaking awesome because we completed an entire raid as a guild. Through all our ups and downs, we made it.
The relief I felt when that final boss went down is unexplainable. Everyone was excited and you could feel the energy because our previous attempts netted us a 10% and 6% wipe. The Discord channel actually fell silent moments before because everyone was pushing out that last bit of heavy damage to get him down. So proud of my tanks for being reliable and completely willing to go with the flow. The healers who healed along with me were phenomenal. I aspire to be as geared as they are one day. Last but not least, my amazing DPS. Thank you for being incredibly geared and still wanting to hang out with us.
Okay, that was starting to sound like I just won some grand World of Warcraft prize. Although extremely cool if realistic, it's not but I just felt the need to give credit where it's do. I've said it before, I don't play this game as often as I used to but this little victory has sparked my love of the game all over again. I'm actually looking forward to next week when we do it all over again in Heroic.
We shouldn't have too much trouble since a few people in my group have already completed a few of them on their own time. I'm really hoping that we can zoom through the first three or four bosses before the end of the night and then come back on the second to complete the raid. I'm super excited for next week. If we continue to stick together as a group/guild then this will officially be my second time as guild master of a [super casual] raid guild.
That in itself, is pretty cool to me too.
